well well... prelims are over but that was not what I'm looking forward to. Prelims over means doughnut is coming! Exactly 37 days to the second paper. Science practical. ha ha. For the past few days or so, i have been slacking and that was my intention; take a break before continuing my pursuit for o lvl. Though prelims are over, i regretted doing one thing. For all the papers except English, i did not do it wholeheartedly. Yes, NEVER. So i wont be surprised if my grades took a plunge. That would be expected by me for this prelims. But oh well, its already the past and as you would have heard it circulating around " the past does not equals to the present ". For this saying, i am very sure that the grades i would get in prelims will not be the same as the o lvl. Technically speaking, take for example physics paper. It was one hell difficult paper that many students felt. The questions standard was not on par with the o lvl or somehow slightly tougher than what was required of the o lvl. I took no chanced and heeded the teachers advice to do the tys. Yes i did practice it, everyone does it too. But the questions set was simply way-off. Lucky for us, paper 1 was doable. Did not have much difficulties doing it. Just hope that they would moderate the marks. Enough said about prelims.
In a nutshell, i am expecting the expected. ha ha. But hey, many people would only start executing study plan and vigorous effort in doing the tys after knowing or getting their prelim result. I have read of many stories in the articles of local papers about them flunked their prelims but did fantabolously well in the actual o lvl. Having scored atrocious results in their prelims for instance C's and D's and not a single As, they scored straight As or almost all of it nearing As. But i don't hope for miracle to happen. In fact, i will just follow their steps and hope for the best outcome yea. If you have faith in yourself and know that you will do well, you certainly will. =D
So this was/were my activities after prelim. We headed to ECP again for leisure activities. But instead of cycling, we roller-bladed. Among the 10 who went, 4 knew how to blade but 1 opted for cycling instead. Bonfurt! ha ha. So the remaining 3 had to coach/guide them on how to blade. It seems to me that they picked up the skills quite fast although there were some falling incidents. But hey man, falling is the beginning of everything you do in life. You fall and crawl before learning how to walk when you were once a baby. This principle applies too in roller-blading. You fall first before getting back up on your feet again and thrust forward. However, the 4 or rather 3 of us who knew how to skate are still considered novice. We aren't that great as those professionals. Maybe i would consider roller blading in poly next year and learn all the tricks like T-break and stop, grind, Salom(mindful of spelling errors!) Its fun but exhausting. So far now i only know criss cross, T-break apart from the basic. ha ha. Still a noobie man. But i shall learn it all over again once o lvl ends. So all of us break-fast outside. There were only 3 M though. The rest were C. Neither labelling nor humiliating them ar. So at the crack of dusk, we quenched our thirst with a 500ml of 100+ after receiving the signal to breakfast. Whoa, the dry throat in contact with a gassy drink certainly did quenched our thirst man. I finished up the bottle in less than 300s. Too thirsty liao. At least our stomach had been loaded with some fluid. So we walked back to the bus stop and walked towards the 'shopping centre' which zhewei thought. ha ha! When we reached there, there was a BIG sign saying "MARINE PARADE COMMUNITY CENTRE". Everyone began whining and ranting. I don't blame him because the architecture designed the building imitating a shopping centre type. So we actually walked 1 round instead of crossing over to reach the actual shopping centre "parkway parade". Very funny lar. Then all of us dashed into B.K and settled down. Ordered a meal at the beginning but after eating finish the food, my stomach still grumbled for food. So i went to order another burger. It does not eased the condition. I told myself b.k is rather expensive so endured till i got back home and fill my stomach. We went window shopped around and headed back b.p. Exhausted and fun.
Talking about breaking fast outside at anywhere is no longer a taboo. It used to be but no longer now. I read the SUNDAY TIMES today and chanced upon the article of breaking fast outside whether or not with family/friends or alone, i must say that WE have changed to have a broader mind. We were not as narrow-minded as we used to be. Living in globalised world, this thinking that we have shall vanish. Instead of breaking fast with your-only-religion, now we break fast in a diverse culture. Now you see the bonding between 2 different race settling down and eat together. It is now common. I am fortunate to have my C and M friends breaking fast together with me at the crack of dusk. In fact, we actually practised this when we go out study and never be back home till say about 9+. Thanks friends. They dont have the weird feeling so do i. Its good to see we are interacting this way and that race is not a problem. We share the same blood, live at the same block/floor, study in the same school, go to school together, go out together, speak in common language and last but not least share our sorrows together and help one another in times of need. So in my opinion, race is not an issue and will never be. We are now open minded people and getting your-other-half of a different race is common. ha ha.
What a lengthy post today. Well, this post is a summarised version of what i went through 3 days ago and the thoughts within me about some issues. If in a way or another, some people feel bad, pls don't be so. This is general. Extract from the newspaper articles. Its a general thing. We cant hide it forever. We will soon have to face it. Any feeling of uncomfortable/shoot at is greatly regretted.
